Amber Heard Gets Temporary Restraining Order against Hollywood Star Johnny Depp

The divorce case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard became explosive last week when Heard filed for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Depp.

Heard told a California court that the restraining order was necessary because she was a victim of domestic violence and feared for her safety.

Heard recently appeared in court and was granted a TRO against Depp. At the restraining order hearing, Heard said that she made the decision to divorce Depp after he attacked her at their shared residence. According to Heard, Depp became angry when he saw her talking on the phone with one of her friends. Depp allegedly grabbed Heard’s cell phone and smashed it against her face, causing a bruise near her eye. Heard presented photos of the bruise when she made her appearance in the Los Angeles court.

At some point during the altercation that prompted the restraining order, Heard reportedly screamed for her friend on the other end of the phone line to call the police. A short time later, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) dispatched officers to the home. By the time LAPD officers arrived at the residence, however, Depp had already left. The cops spoke with Heard and reportedly determined that there was no evidence of any physical injuries to the actress.

Depp Ordered to Stay Away from Heard

Although a TRO has been imposed against Depp, he will not be required to enter anger management counseling. Heard had asked the judge to require Depp to take anger management classes, but the judge said that there was no evidence to suggest that such a drastic step was needed at this time.

The divorce court judge denied several other requests by Heard, including Heard’s request that she be immediately awarded spousal support and attorney’s fees. Instead, a decision about whether Heard will be granted alimony, and/or fees to cover the costs of her legal representation in the divorce case, will be made when the divorce proceedings go through the typical motions.

Meanwhile, Depp has already responded through his attorneys and called Heard’s allegations “baseless,” while at least a few of Depp’s close friends have verbally attacked Heard and called her a liar who is trying to extort money from Depp.
